Opening Night Theatre is a Toronto-based improvised musical theatre company featuring twelve of this city's most talented improvisers, singers, musicians, and performers. We take an audience suggestion and make up a Smash Hit musical on the spot every Saturday night at the beautiful Augusta House in Kensington Market. Every Saturday night is opening night and, coincidentally, closing night.

Opening Night Theatre was founded in the summer of 2011 by a small group of dedicated performers. "We wanted to bring the incredible vitality of the New York and Chicago improvised musical scenes to Toronto." says Josh Bowman in a fully made-up quote. Smash Hit is Executive Produced by Steve Cole, Josh Bowman, and Stephanie Sheri. "We love musical theatre and we love the energy of improvisation." says Stephanie Sheri, probably. "We wanted to create something funny, unique, spontaneous, and musical in Toronto that captures that energy."
